Marreese Speights will never forget the 37-point quarter performance of Klay Thompson against the Sacramento Kings back in 2015.
The former big man of the Golden State Warriors said Thompson’s scoring eruption was ‘the most bizarre thing’ he had ever seen.
“The biggest thing I always told people was, ‘Yo. He didn’t score the first couple minutes. He scored with nine something on the clock.’ Everybody say, ‘For real?’ I say, ‘Yeah, yeah.’
That’s how basketball (fans) are. They see certain things but they don’t pay attention to the details. And the details are, that man scored all those points in nine minutes and 45 seconds. That’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. The most bizarre thing I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life,” Speights told Drew Shiller and Grant Liffmann of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Speights was on the bench for all 12 minutes of his teammate’s scoring eruption.
