The Israeli Super League and the Players Union (IBPA) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties, with the mediation of Uri Sheffer, Director of Sport.

According to the memorandum of understanding, the championship will be played under the “Russian rule” for the next five seasons (which stipulates that every team will have 2 Israeli players on the court at any given time during the game).

During each of those 5 seasons, every team will be entitled to register up to five foreigners in the game official sheet, and a total of eight foreign players during the entire season.

Teams registering four foreigners or less in the scoresheet during the whole season, will make a bonus of 250,000 ILS. During the next three seasons each team in the championship will have to register two Israeli players under 22 and one under 25.
