A round up of day two in Ekaterinburg, Russia as the Euroleague Women Final 8 takes shape.

Group A

A 15-0 start for the hosts UMMC Ekaterinburg ensured a comfortable 72-41 win over Good Angels Kosice.

The favourites are now through the semi-finals with a game to spare and the Slovakian giants now have to win their final game against CCC Polkowice to make certain of qualification themselves.

Anete Jekabsone led the Russians with 14 points while Diana Taurasi came back to life after a sub-par first game with 13.

CCC Polkowice also needs to beat Kosice after they eliminated Galatasaray with a 58-51 win.

A double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds from Texan Nnemkadi Ogwumike made sure of victory as the Turkish side drop to 0-2.

Group B

Fenerbahce advanced to the semi-finals and at the same time dumped Famila Schio out of the Final 8 with a convincing 86-59 win.

Angel McCoughtry led the Istanbul side with 15 points as a 19-0 run that ran from the second to the third quarter gave Fenerbahce victory.

Despite defeat, Jantel Lavender was impressive with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

FIBA Europe’s Women’s Player of the Year Celine Dumerc showed her brilliance as Bourges Basket beat Sparta&K 71-64.

Dumerc had 21 points as Bourges face bottom side Famila Schio needing a win to qualify. Sparta&K need to beat Fenerbahce and hope Bourges lose to advance.
