Carmelo Anthony shared his thoughts on the return of big man Jusuf Nurkic, who will make his season debut with the Portland Trail Blazers on March 15.

Anthony said he is looking forward to playing with his teammate and wants Nurkic to have fun playing the game he loves and feel confident in all the work he’s put in to get back.

“When he runs out there, I just want him to be excited and feel comfortable and confident with the rehabbing and the work that he’s put in. And if he’s comfortable and confident in that, then you’ll see Nurk out there feeling good,” Anthony told Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest.

Nurkic had a great regular season for the Blazers in 2018/19 before he got hurt, averaging 15.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 blocks. Nurkic recorded 36 double-doubles and one triple-double.

The Blazers are currently ninth in the standings, with a 28-36 record.
