According to sources, Donatas Motiejunas revealed that few NBA teams expressed interest in signing him, while there are Euroleague options too. But, Motiejunas remains under contract with the Shanghai Sharks and is not willing to terminate it.
On April 4, 2019, Motiejūnas was signed to the San Antonio Spurs and later he declined to sign a new contract with the Spurs because the Shanghai Sharks of the CBA offered a much more valuable deal.
The 29-year-old has returned to his hometown for nearly a month without an official match since the coronavirus halted China’s basketball league – the last match with the Shanghai Sharks outfit D-Mo played was on January 21.
