Zeljko Obradovic, the former Panathinaikos head coach is heading for Turkey to represent Anadolu Efes according to Turkish sources. The charismatic coach could be joined by his assistant coach Dimitris Itoudis.

After 13 seasons representing this Greek powerhouse, the Serbian coach left after losing this year’s national finals against Olympiacos and getting eliminated by Regal Barcelona in Turkish Airline Euroleague Final 4.

His longtime assistant coach left Pana this Saturday morning with an open letter for fans and all the players and staff, which was totally not expected at the moment because he would possibly take the spot left on the bench.

Obradovic is currently considering stay one year resting, without taking any job related to basketball but with a €3M offer for both coaches which will be considered the best contract ever for a duo of coaches in European basketball history they might decide to accept the offer and represent the Euroleague team next season.

The list of titles won by Obradovic is unmatched by any other coach in current history, with 8 Euroleagues and several national titles (Spain, Serbia, Italy).
