Newly crowned Euroleague champions, Olympiacos, were met at the airport upon their arrival from Istanbul by more than seven thousand fans. It took fifteen years for the Reds to reach the top of European club competition.
The Agelopoulos brothers, the owners of the club, were on top the bus with the cup as it drove surrounded by singing fans from all sides. They were joined by two Olympiacos players – the hero of the winning shot, Georgios Printezis and Joey Dorsey.
The players won’t have much time to celebrate this historical victory as Olympiacos face fierce rivals Panathinaikos in the Greek League finals. Game 1 will be played already tomorrow on Olympiacos’ home court.
