Zion Williamson will make his season debut with the New Orleans Pelicans in the coming days or weeks, but will not have much playing time.

The head coach of the Pelicans, Alvin Gentry, confirmed the news while speaking to reporters, stating that Williamson will play very limited minutes upon his return.

“He’s making progress,” Gentry said of Zion Williamson, via Andrew Lopez of ESPN.

“He’s practicing. He’s playing 5-on-5. We’re trying to gauge exactly when it would be a good situation to put him out there. Even when we do, it’ll be very limited minutes to start,” he added.

Williamson underwent surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in October and has been sidelined since then. The Pelicans are at 14-25.
