The agent of Nikola Milutinov, Marko Jelic, revealed his client had phenomenal offers from Barcelona and CSKA Moscow in the offseason.

Here is what Jelic told the Serbian website Mozzart Sport regarding the interest of the two EuroLeague powerhouses for the Serbian center:

“Nikola has a contract with Olympiacos. This is the last year. There’s always interest. Nikola has matured as a man and as a player. He has “exploded” since last season. As one of the most dominant, right now perhaps the most dominant, center in Europe, interest is a normal thing.

He had an official offer by Barcelona this summer and later by CSKA Moscow. It was Olympiacos that decided they wanted to keep him.

Nikola did not mind since he has identified himself with the club and Athens, the city and the way of life there. He is the biggest pillar of the game of Olympiacos.

Let’s understand that nothing bad happened that he did not leave. He had phenomenal offers. Olympiacos did not accept them and Nikola is where he is. We’ll see what happens next summer.”

Milutinov has been averaging 10.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the EuroLeague this season, with Olympiacos having a 5-6 record.
