European and International players reports from Las Vegas Summer League

ImageTalkBasket friends from NetScoutsBasketball have been following the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and had the chance to watch some European and International players who play in Europe, in action. Read their reports on Casspi, Eyenga, Jerebko and Beaubois.

Omri Casspi (Kings via Israel): Long and lanky SF, about 203cm. Plays very hard, aggressive, and shows good toughness. Struggled a bit with turnovers and was inconsistent shooting from range but again, once he gets a feel for unique NBA rules he’ll adjust fine.

Christian Eyenga (Cavs via Spain[Congolese]): Very talented young guy. Cavs worked him out in Spain prior to draft and fell in love with him. Listed at 196cm but easily stands 200cm and about 99kg. Runs and jumps very well and has long arms. At times he looked great and others disappeared. One would assume (considering he was in 2nd division Spain last season) that he’d go back to Spain and play on the Joventut ACB roster but a source I spoke with says the Cavs are planning on keeping him here to receive NBA training and work everyday against LeBron & Co.

Jonas Jerebko (Pistons via Sweden): Nice athlete, good size at 208cm and could easily add some weight without hurting his already good athleticism. Played a lot of Center to allow Dejuan Summers to play PF and Austin Daye to play SF. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in Europe but I think he’s good enough to stick and develop by playing within the NBA system.  Averaged 12 ppoints and 6 rebounds per game.

Rodrigue Beaubois (Dallas via France): Very talented PG prospect. Had some big scoring games and a scare (knee injury). He bounced back and played again and played well. Didn’t shoot it great as week wore on but his big-time quickness and long arms are very good on Pick & Roll and getting to the rim. He shot it from 3 very well early on.  Averaged 17 ppg, 3 rpg, 4 apg.
