Omri Casspi’s future with Maccabi Tel Aviv was up in the air after the completion of the 2020-21 season campaign. According to Israel Hayom (hat tip to Eurohoops), the veteran forward decided to retire.

One of the best Israeli basketball players in the history of the game won four Israeli League titles and two Israeli Cups – all with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He returned to Europe in 2019 after spending 10 years as a legitimate NBA role player. He played for the Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies.

He was the 23rd overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings. Furthermore, he spent five seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague recording career averages of 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 61EuroLeague games.
