Patty Mills stole the ball, with 4.4 seconds to go, and helped Australia survive France and finish first in Group L (98-100).

It was a close game from start to finish, with no team earning a double-digit lead. Nando De Colo tied the game at 98, with 16 seconds to go, but Matthew Dellavedova made one free throw and put the Australians in front by one (98-99).

Mills then made the steal and sealed the deal for his team (98-100). Thanks to this win, Australia will face the Czech Republic in the Quarter-finals and France will battle Team USA. Both games will be played on Wednesday (11/09).

Mills had a team-high 30 points for the winners, whereas Evan Fournier posted a game-high 31 points.
