Despite the passing of his mother on Monday (09/09), Vasilije Micic will remain with Serbia ahead of the Quarter-final against Argentina (10/09).
It was likely the Serbian guard would return to Serbia to attend his mother’s funeral, however head coach Sasha Djordjevic confirmed that Micic will stay in China.
“He has shown greatness and courage and that he has honor. It’s extremely difficult for him but he remains with us,” said coach Djordjevic, per Slobodan Sarenac of Serbian RTS.
