After free agent forward Carmelo Anthony has been denied from Team USA tryout by calling him “a distraction” to the team, the Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban stepped up to defend 10 time NBA All-Star:
Per Syracuse: “I had to speak up for Melo – he should be on that team. There’s absolutely no reason for them not to have him on that team … And what are they actually playing for now? This isn’t even the Olympics and when the Olympics come along it’s going to be a substantially different team … As far as distractions you’ve got the best coaches in the universe coaching that team. How’s he going to be a distraction?” Cuban said.
