Mark Cuban, in selling the Dallas Mavericks to the Adelson and Dumont families, opted not to secure a separate employment agreement.

Sources tell Marc Stein that Cuban could have retained control over the team’s basketball operations, but declined, citing his trust in Patrick Dumont. Cuban, 65, also prefers to avoid formal employment.
