Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony advocates for Trae Young’s potential move to the San Antonio Spurs, emphasizing the synergy it could create alongside rookie standout Victor Wembanyama.

During a recent episode the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, Anthony shared his perspective on Young’s future in the league, highlighting the need for another dynamic presence like Young within the Spurs’ roster.

“Trae? Yea! Hell yea. I think you need another alpha. Trae Young brings a certain type of energy. So I think that’s something San Antonio should look at,” Anthony said, per Jedd Pagaduan of ClutchPoints.

As one of the league’s premier playmakers, Young’s skill set and leadership could potentially complement the Spurs’ evolving roster and contribute to their long-term success.

This season the 25-year-old point guard is averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game.

Young is in the second year of a lucrative five-year, $215 million contract with the Hawks.
