Russia came back from a 15-point deficit and defeated Italy in a preparation game for the Basketball World Cup (72-70).

The Italians were in front by 15 (55-70), but did not score in the last seven minutes of the game. Consequently, the Russians closed the match on a 17-0 run and earned the victory, thanks to a three-pointer by Vitaly Fridzon at the buzzer.

Fridzon and Nikita Kurbanov led the winners with 16 points apiece, whereas Alessandro Gentile had 13 points and seven rebounds for the losing squad.
