Italy played excellent on both ends and rallied past Romania (88-60) in its first Basketball World Cup preparation game.
Alessandro Gentile led the winners with 14 points, while Awudu Abass and Pietro Aradori added 10 points apiece. Bogdan Nicolescu and Emanuel Cate scored 12 points apiece for the losing squad.
Italy played without Marco Belinelli, Danilo Gallinari and Luigi Datome. They will face Cote d’Ivoire in their second preparation game on Wednesday (31/07).
