The Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker spoke to the media about his free agency preferences, per Jared Weiss of The Athletic:
“Charlotte’s definitely my first priority. That’s where I’ve been for eight years and that’s all I know. Not many people get a chance to play for one NBA team throughout their career.”
Walker can earn a supermax contract extension from Charlotte that pays him $221.3 million over five years. Any other team can offer a four-year, $140.6 million deal, via Bleacher Report.
This season, the 28-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.
