ImageCajasol Seville got another victory, this time at home against Xacobeo Obradoiro (81-72). This is the fifth consecutive win for a team which didn't start the season pretty well, with three defeats. Dusko Savanovic and Tariq Kirksay were the best local players while Marc Jackson shined with visiting team.

Cajasol is becoming a very hard team to beat, specially at home. They are playing a great defense, in a way that local fan haven't seen in years. Joan Plaza has given a soul to the team, and they play always looking to their teammates before shooting, in case there is a better chance to score. They defend hard and when they get the ball, they run like cheetah.

Today it was like Cajasol didn't join the game for the fist five minutes, and Obradoiro is a small team, but they know hoy to take advantage of a certain cituation. Marc Jackson is their main scoring weapon, and he proved this today. Every ball he got, produced some kind of benefit for his team. Xavi Rey simply couldn't stop him, so Triguero had to get out of the bench to replace him.

It made Cajasol to awake. They started to defend very hard, and it produced first advantages. Savanovic, that player with a huge class in his hands, not always showed last year, is now a very self-assured man. He can virtually score every ball he shoots, and a very smart player like Earl Calloway knows how to find him.

So as simple as it may seem, Cajasol moved the ball very well, and managed to get ten points in advantage at the end of the first quarter. Vasileiadis, the main from-behind-the-arc-scorer in Obradoiro was completely lost, and only with the help of Djedovic was very hard to tie the game.

The second half continued all the same. This lead Cajasol to forget a little bit about the game, and Obradoiro made good use of it. With only ten points down Curro Segura, visiting coach, ordered a zonal defense which complicated the attack for Cajasol. Obradoiro managed to be only six points down, but then Ty Ellis scored two consecutive three-pointers and the game ended there.

This is a very important win for Cajasol, which becomes an important candidate to play Copa del Rey at the end of the first leg, something really unexpected after seven years with no presence in that championship.
