Robert YoungbloodMarshall Milton Keynes Lions today announced the Re-signing of 6'7" Power Forward, Robert Youngblood The 39-year-old veteran enters his sixth season with the Lions having contributed massively in the capture of the clubs first ever title in 2008 and been a key feature for the Bletchley based outfit.

Youngblood averaged 9pts and 6 rebounds for the Lions, in the team's rotation system, those were all good numbers but it was his all round game that continues to delight Lions owner and Head Coach, Vince Macaulay.

"Robert is becoming so synonymous with the Lions now, it is difficult to remember him in a London Towers vest let alone a Leopards one, he is very competitive, which I love, but has a really high skill level, I think next season will be a statement year for Robert"

"I feel we will see an even more energised version of Robert come the start of the season," continued Macaulay," he played very well after Christmas and we are all working to make sure he hits the ground running this time and picks up from where he left off, I am excited"

As well as his experience of British basketball, winning the BBL Championship and the BBL Cup in his time in England, the power forward also played throughout Europe, including spells in Portugal and the German Bundesliga. He began his career in 1991 becoming the Number One Draft pick in the CBA in the United States, after graduating from Southern University. Youngblood joins new signing, EJ Harrison announced earlier in the month. The Lions expect to make another player announcement later this week.

Lions are in action in pre-season friendlies in early September starting with Team USA on the 18th at the Bletchley Leisure Centre. The season proper starts on the 25th of September when the Worcester Wolves are the visitors.
