CSKA Moscow forward Alec Peters spoke with TalkBasket.net regarding the loss to Panathinaikos on Friday (96-84).

Here is what the American big man said:

On what cost his team the victory: “A lot of things went wrong, we turned the ball over, we missed free throws. If you do these things wrong, you don’t give yourself a good chance to win.”

On whether defence was the Muscovites’ weak link: “In the second quarter, our defence was of low standards. There was a lack of communication and this cost us the win.

This is what happens when you don’t play at your level.”

On the club’s positive record in the first part of the season (11-4) and whether they can continue this way: “I think so. We should be better prepared and have better results in order to fight for the top spot.”

On his overall performance so far: “I knew there would be ups and downs, good games and bad games. I just hope to keep up the effort and make shots in order to help the team win.”
