TalkBasket.net spoke with Armani Milano forward, Vladimir Micov, after the Italians’ victory over Panathinaikos in Athens (83-86).

Here is what the Serbian player said:

On what was the key to the victory: “It was a very important game for us, we had lost five games in a row and had suffered some painful defeats at home (to Gran Canaria and Bayern Munich).

Tonight we had to react, we moved the ball, we were up and had control of the game. Although they came back, we stood tall and won the game.”

On whether this win will help the team fight for the playoffs: “For sure. This year, the team is good and it was created to reach the playoffs. We made a great start, but then we suffered five straight losses.

This win means a lot, especially on the road. Now, we go to Tel-Aviv and we should win. But, there are still many games to play.”

On his overall performance so far: “It doesn’t matter who is scoring, basketball is a team sport. If I feel useful for the team, I am happy of course, because I play a lot.

Tonight, the only bad thing was that I missed two crucial free throws that could help us win more easily. Gudaitis played well tonight. Basketball is a team sport and we should do everything to help the team win.”
