Zenit St Petersburg announced that Joan Plaza is the new head coach of the club and will replace Vasily Karasev.
The Spanish coach returns to the bench after parting ways with Unicaja Malaga, where he spent the last five seasons.
Plaza is the only coach to reach the EuroCup Finals with three different teams [Real Madrid (2007), Sevilla (2011) and Unicaja (2017)].
