Thanks to a 24-14 run in the fourth quarter, Israel beat Serbia at home (83-74) and retained its chances to qualify to the World Cup.
It was a close game between the two teams from the opening tip (29-24, 43-45, 59-60), yet the hosts played better in the fourth quarter and went on to win the game.
Guy Pnini and Jake Cohen led the winners, with 18 and 14 points, respectively. Tamir Blatt posted 10 points, nine assists and seven steals.
On the other hand, four players scored in double figures for the losing squad, as Dragan Milosavljevic had a team-high 17 points.
Israel improved to 4-5, whereas Serbia dropped to 5-4.
