ImageCholet Basket signed point guard Jamaal Tatum to a short-term deal to help replace the injured Thomas Larrouquis, who could miss six weeks with an ankle problem.

Tatum (183, 25) could make his Cholet debut as soon as Friday against fellow Eurocup side SLUC Nancy in the French League. Tatum was a college teammate of current Cholet big man Randal Falker at the University of Southern Illinois, where he was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year after his senior season in 2007.

He sat out the 2007-08 season with an ankle injury, but came back last season to average 11.8 points and 4 assists over 49 games for Idaho in the NBDL. Cholet will be his first club in Europe.
