Xavier Rathan-Mayes was unstoppable offensively (24 points) and talked to TalkBasket.net about the victory of AEK Athens over Bamberg (93-86).

Here is what the 24-year-old Canadian said:

On the victory over Bamberg: “We did a very good job, we executed very well both defensively and offensively. We ran our offence the way we wanted to, we had precision in execution and we sticked to our game plan.

We took great guys, like Tyrese Rice, out of their confidence. I am confident about where we are going and what we do as a team.”

On the team’s defence and whether it was effective, despite conceding 86 points: “We played well defensively, yes. Tyrese Rice was the second-leading scorer in the league (26.5 points per game in the first two BCL games) and we kept him at just six. We did a really good job on locking in.”

On his individual performance: “I feel good, I feel I get better each and every day. I get more comfortable with our system and continue to get better. I am happy about what I am as a player and I will continue to get better. Hope I will lead the team.”
