Xavier Rathan-Mayes was unstoppable (24 points) and helped AEK Athens defeat Brose Bamberg at home (93-86).
Apart from the Canadian guard, Giannoulis Larentzakis and Malcolm Griffin scored 14 points apiece for the defending champions, who earned their second victory in the competition (2-1).
On the other hand, Augustine Rubit posted a team-high 20 points (on 9/10 shooting) for the Germans, who have won only once in three BCL games (1-2). Arnoldas Kulboka added 16 points and Cliff Alexander 14 for the losing squad.
AEK Athens had control of the game in the first half (21-15, 44-34), yet Bamberg always found a way to come back (62-57, 71-66). The hosts, though, stood tall, executed very well offensively (49 points in the second half) and defeated their opponents (93-86).

In the other BCL matches, Antwerp beat Hapoel Jerusalem (101-89) and put an end to the Israelis’ undefeated streak (2-1), while Promitheas Patras edged Bayreuth on the road (70-75) to remain perfect in the league (3-0).
