The Rockets’ small forward, Carmelo Anthony, made his debut in Houston. For the first time in his 16-year NBA career, Anthony started the game off the bench.

Speaking about his new role, the ten-time NBA All-Star said, per ESPN: “It’s challenging mentally more so than anything, having to prepare for the game differently…Other than that, it’s a challenge all the way around. It’s just a matter of how I’m going to react to that challenge and accepting that challenge, which I am, which I will do.”

In the Rockets season opener, a 34-year-old veteran, in 27 minutes of action, managed 9 points, while shooting 3-of-10 from the floor, including 1-of-5 from three. The Houston Rockets lost to the New Orleans Pelicans at home (112-131).

The three-time Olympic gold medalist, during his NBA career is averaging 24.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while shooting at 44.9 percent from the field.
