The Houston Rockets had a severe loss against the New Orleans Pelicans at home (112-131). Anthony Davis, with the game-high 32 points and 16 rebounds, helped the Pelicans to beat one of the favourites of this NBA season. He also made 8 assists.

Nicola Mirotic contributed 30 points and 10 boards, Julius Randle added 25 points. Six players of the Pelicans finished the game with the double-digit scoring.

On the other hand, Eric Gordon, with 21 points, was the leading scorer of the Rockets. Chris Paul and P.J. Tucker both posted 19 points, James Harden added 18 points and 10 assists.

Carmelo Anthony made his debut for the Rockets off the bench. The ten-time NBA All-Star, in 27 minutes of action, scored 9 points, while shooting 3-of-10 from the floor.
