A 29-year-old shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and a four-time NBA All-Star made his San Antonio Spurs debut in the first Spurs’ preseason game. His team beat the Miami Heat (104:100). DeRozan played in the starting lineup and scored 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists while playing 18 minutes.

After the game DeRozan said: “Just getting out there, lacing them up in front of the fans for the first time, it was fun… I’m glad I got to get the rust and kinks out and [got to] go out and get that part out of the way. It’s going to come along. I’m not worried at all. I was out there more anxious than anything”.

DeMar DeRozan joined the San Antonio Spurs this summer after the trade between the Toronto Raptors and the Spurs. Last season as the Raptors member he was scoring 23 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
