Olympiacos forward, Janis Timma, spoke with the media before Latvia’s practice and referred to his signing with the “Reds” and whether he talked to his team-mate, Janis Strelnieks, before signing his contract:
Here is what the former Baskonia player said:
On joining Olympiacos: “Olympiacos showed interest to me, and in the end, the two teams agreed on my contract. However, before the process was completed, they did not allow me to talk to any Olympiacos player. So I did not even contact Strelnieks before I finally signed.”
On whether he talked to Strelnieks, after signing his contract: “Of course, he was the first to know about my contract, but I told him after I signed with Olympiacos.
I could not talk to Olympiacos, because I was not sure 100% I would go there. Indeed, until the last minute, it was not quite clear that I would sign with the particular side.”
