The head coach of Serbia, Aleksandar Djordjevic, spoke with the Serbian newspaper “Zurnal” and referred to his team being in full force for the second round of the World Cup Qualifiers as well as the possibility of Milos Teodosic and Boban Marjanovic joining the national team for the matches against Greece (September 13) and Estonia (September 16).

Here is what the Serbian coach said:

On many players not joining the national teams ahead of the WC Qualifiers: “I no longer understand why players won’t come. The contracts are signed, summer vacations are over, and their mind has rested. I prefer to see them in front of me than to see them behind a screen. It’s not an obligation, but many of them certainly want to give more to their national teams.”

On whether Teodosic and Marjanovic will play for Serbia in September: “On Tuesday, I have a final meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers‘ General Manager, Lawrence Frank, after which I will know everything on Milos Teodosic and Boban Marjanovic’s situations and whether they’ll join the team.

Both of them travelled to Los Angeles to meet with doctors and athletic trainers. On Monday and Tuesday they will practice, and then a decision will be made. Most likely on Wednesday, the roster will feature 16 players.”
