Lithuanian champ Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday announced the addition of shooting guard Thomas Walkup for the next two seasons.
Walkup (1.93 meters, 25 years old) arrives from MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg of Germany, where last season he averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 39 games. He also took the team to the FIBA Basketball Champions League semifinals.
Walkup played college basketball at Stephen F. Austin State University from 2012 to 2016. The season before last, he started his pro career with Windy City of the D-League. In the summer of 2017, he signed his first overseas contract with Ludwigsburg and was named to the German League’s first team.
He will now be making his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Zalgiris.
