Darussafaka Istanbul has appointed Ahmet Caki as its newest head coach.

The contract is for two seasons. Caki, 42, takes over from David Blatt, who led the club to 7DAYS EuroCup crown last season and a return to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, but with the completion of his contract is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Caki returns to Darussafaka, where he spent several years as an assistant and made his head coaching debut in 2004. He spent two seasons as the Dacka boss.

Caki last coached ALBA Berlin in Germany for the 2016-17 season. He guided the team to the EuroCup Top 16 and the German League playoffs. Caki has also coached Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi, Erdemirspor, Tofas Bursa and Anadolu Efes Istanbul in his native Turkey.
