It’s the final day of group action at Eurobasket 2017 before the tournament moves to the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul. Group C and D was finalised with regards to teams advancing, but today is merely to determine final standings and for the eliminated teams, to finish with a bang.

Group C

Croatia thumped already eliminated Czech Republic 107-69 to finish the group phase with a 4-1 record in Cluj-Napoca.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 25 points to lead Croatia with Dario Saric adding an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double in a comfortable win.

Pau Gasol made history as Spain completed Group C unbeaten by beating Hungary 87-64.

Gasol hit 20 points to not only lead Spain but become Eurobasket’s all-time leading scorer, passing former France guard Tony Parker on the list.

Montenegro ended their group campaign before travelling to Istanbul by downing winless Romania 86-69.

Nemanja Djurisic paced the Montenegrins with 14 points.

Group D

Russia ended their group phase with an 82-70 win over Great Britain who finish Eurobasket with a 0-5 record despite being competitive in all five matches.

Alexey Shved paced Russia with 30 points and eight assists but despite the double-digit win, Great Britain made things hard, reducing the gap to two points in the fourth before Shved hit nine straight points late on to seal the win and move forward to the round of 16.

Serbia ended their group phase in a high by easing past already eliminated Belgium 74-54.

Boban Marjanovic led Serbia with 22 points and seven rebounds.

Latvia ended their Group D adventure with a stellar 82-72 win over hosts Turkey who will now face off against Spain in the round of 16.

Kristaps Porzingis went for 28 points for the winners.
