Group A

Slovenia eased past Iceland 102-75 in Helsinki to advance to the second phase with a 4-0 record.

The Slovenians recovered after a slow start to take a commanding 60-43 lead at the half and they never looked back.

Goran Dragic led the winners with 21 points, four assists and four rebounds.

After struggling for the majority of the first half, France stormed back to stun Poland 78-75.

Thomas Huertel led the winners with 23 points to guide France to the win and qualification to the next round.

Their final group game will be against Slovenia to determine top spot in the pool.

Finland downed Greece 89-77 in the final game of the night in Helsinki.

Petteri Koponen hit three triples en route to 24 points as they book their place in the second phase in Istanbul.

Group B

Lithuania thumped Ukraine 92-64 in the first game of the day in Tel Aviv.

Toronto Raptors big man Jonas Valanciunas had his best outing so far at Eurobasket for the Lithuanians with a 22-point outing in a routine victory.

Germany booked their place in the second round for the first time since 2011 by edging Italy 61-55.

Dennis Schröder paced the Germans with 17 points and four assists.

Georgia outlasted Group B hosts Israel 104-91 after a thrilling session of overtime in Tel Aviv.

Tornike Shengelia had a monster game of 25 points and 19 rebounds to lead Georgia into the next phase.

Group C

After being written off at the start of the tournament, Montenegro have answered with a deserved 88-75 victory over Czech Republic to qualify for the next round.

Nikola Vucevic impressed with a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds as Montenegro blew the Czechs away in the first three quarters. The Czechs however did mount a valiant comeback in the final quarter but fell short.

Spain secured top spot in Group C after they downed Croatia 79-73 in a match where both teams already progressed to the next round.

Ricky Rubio led the holders with 13 points.

Adam Hanga once again starred for Hungary as they edged a brave Romanian side 80-71.

Hanga had 26 points as they progressed and eliminated Romania.

Group D

Latvia advanced to the second phase of Eurobasket with a convincing 84-69 win over already qualified Russia in Istanbul.

Janis Timma paced Latvia with 22 points as they inflicted a first defeat of the competition on Russia, whose qualification was confirmed after yesterday’s games.

Bogdan Bogdanovic hit 18 points as Serbia advanced to the next phase with an 82-68 win over Great Britain.

Despite a valiant effort throughout, GB bow out of the competition but as a consolation, Teddy Okereafor had his international career-high of 17 points.

Furkan Korkmaz starred as Group D hosts Turkey got the better of Belgium 78-65 to advance to the round of 16.

Korkmaz led Turkey with 14 points, pacing four players in double figures.

It means that with a day of action still to play, Group D is finalised with Russia, Serbia, Latvia and the hosts advancing with Belgium joining Great Britain on the flight home.
