After a series of disappointing seasons, where the team failed to reach the postseason and had one of the worst records, it seems the Minnesota Timberwolves can fight for a place in the Western Conference Finals this year.

This off-season has been completely different for the “Wolves” fans so far. Not only have they seen Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns keep their place in the roster, but the administration has also signed All-Star guards Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague.

Moreover, Minnesota acquired three-point expert, Jamal Crawford, as well as power forward Taj Gibson, who is a great rim protector.

That said, and despite the departure of Ricky Rubio and Ζach LaVine, the team can make the difference on both ends of the floor and fight for one of the top spots in the Western Conference.

What exactly should basketball fans expect from the Timberwolves this season, though?

Certainly, coach Tom Thibodeau has created a roster full of versatile and talented players that can adapt to different tactics and strategies.

More specifically, Teague, Butler, Wiggins, Towns and Crawford as well as Gibson, Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng can score points in many ways, either in transition or 5-on-5 situations, which enables Thibodeau to set a series of different plays that will make the squad’s playing style unpredictable.

In addition, it’s vital for the experienced coach to make his players play for one another in order to be effective and productive, both defensively and offensively.

More specifically, if the team has good and quick ball movement, then many open shots will be created and it will be much more difficult for the opponents to stop the “Wolves” from imposing their own playing style.

Furthermore, Gibson and Butler will make the team stronger defensively, with Teague and Crawford being decent defenders, too.

That said, if Towns and Wiggins enhance their defensive performance as well, then Minnesota will be able to play solid and consistent defence.

It’s also worth mentioning that the “Wolves” will be a great betting option as well. Since betting has been closely connected with sports these days, it’s very likely more people would prefer to bet on Thibodeau’s squad to go all the way to the end.

With more and more betting websites offering live betting opportunities, bet on live games with NetBet, as the Minnesota Timberwolves will certainly be among the top betting options ahead of the new season.

Overall, the club should be considered one of the off-season winners, having acquired top-class players that can bring Minnesota back to the top of the NBA, for the first time in many years.

No matter what will happen, though, and whether they will be the league’s pleasant surprise, the “Wolves” will probably be fun to watch in every game.
