The Liga Endesa’s supposed ‘big three’ all recorded victories on matchday one of the new league season as Real Madrid, Baskonia and Barcelona got off to a winning start.

On opening night, Real Madrid secured a 100-91 win over Unicaja Malaga with Baskonia easing past Rio Monbus 92-76 on the road. The two ex-NBA stars Shane Larkin and Andrea Bargnani featured for Baskonia, with Larkin posting solid numbers of 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds. He also shot 50 percent from the field.

Coming off the bench, Bargnani hit seven points on his ACB debut.

Barcelona though found their first game tricker than expected, but still came away with a 56-50 win over Manresa.

However, despite victory in the SupaCopa, Gran Canaria began their Liga Endesa campaign with a surprise 92-81 loss at home to Tenerife.
