Utah Jazz forward Kyle Filipowski has yet to return to team practices as he continues recovering from offseason surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.
The young big man has been working individually away from the court while completing his rehabilitation program.
His absence comes despite earlier expectations that he would be available for training camp.
Jazz president of basketball operations Austin Ainge had previously indicated that Filipowski would receive clearance to participate in team activities.
However, Utah head coach Will Hardy recently confirmed that Filipowski is still progressing through the necessary stages of his recovery.
“He’s progressing well,” Hardy said about Filipowski’s status. “(We’re) hopeful that he’s back with us soon. I know ‘soon’ is an arbitrary word, but he’s going through all the necessary steps to get back on the court.
“I know he’s very antsy to get back. It’s been a long summer of rehab, and the hope is that he’ll be back out there soon.”
