Iman Shumpert believes Klay Thompson has landed in an ideal situation with the Miami Heat because of the attention Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo demand inside.

With defenses forced to protect the paint against Miami’s two star big men, Shumpert expects Thompson to receive plenty of open opportunities from beyond the arc.

“Klay Thompson with a lot of time to shoot because you’ll have to do a lot of covering for Giannis especially when he’s healthy. You gotta pack in the paint with Giannis and Bam. He’s landed in the perfect spot.”

Thompson remained a productive perimeter shooter last season despite playing for a struggling Dallas Mavericks team. He connected on 38.3 percent of his attempts from three-point range.

Playing alongside Giannis and Adebayo could create more space for Thompson on the perimeter.
