Washington Wizards rookie Jamir Watkins has successfully undergone surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee that he suffered during NBA Summer League.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and was reported to be successful.

The injury marks the second ACL tear of Watkins’ career, after previously suffering the same setback while playing at VCU.

Watkins was selected by the Wizards with the 43rd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft following his collegiate career at Florida State and later signed a two-way contract with the franchise.
