The Washington Wizards have signed second-round pick Jamir Watkins to a two-way contract, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Watkins, selected No. 43 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, joins Washington as part of its long-term development plan focused on young talent. The 23-year-old forward wrapped up his college career as an All-ACC selection during his senior year at Florida State.
He averaged 18.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.9 minutes per game in 2024–25, showcasing his scoring versatility and defensive activity.
Watkins started his collegiate journey at VCU before transferring to Florida State, where he elevated his game significantly. Over 126 college games, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 42.7% from the field.
His senior year marked career-highs in points and efficiency, highlighted by 177 made field goals and 53 three-pointers on 32.1% shooting from deep.
With the two-way deal, Watkins will split time between the Wizards and their G League affiliate during the 2025–26 season.
