Jonathan Isaac has agreed to return to the Magic on a one-year contract after the two sides reunited shortly following the start of free agency.

Orlando waived Isaac before free agency began, though he still received the $8 million guaranteed in his previous contract.

Because the Magic did not use the waive-and-stretch provision, they were able to quickly re-sign the veteran forward.

Injuries have significantly limited Isaac throughout his career, as he appeared in just 45 games over four seasons from 2019-20 through 2022-23.

Last season, he played in 52 games and averaged 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per contest.

The Magic also added veteran center Nikola Vucevic during the opening days of free agency.

Isaac, the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has spent his entire NBA career with Orlando.
