Magic forward Jonathan Isaac suffered a left knee sprain during Thursday’s overtime win over Washington and was ruled out for the rest of the game, the team announced.
Head coach Jamahl Mosley said the moment Isaac went down was concerning for everyone on the team, according to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel.
“My heart dropped,” Mosley said, adding that the injury took “a lot of energy out of our players.”
The Magic later confirmed that Isaac underwent an MRI, which verified the sprain. His return timeline will depend on how his knee responds to treatment.
Isaac had recently missed three straight games due to soreness in the same knee but was available for Wednesday’s win over Cleveland, though he didn’t play.
“That’s just something that’s been kind of lingering,” Mosley said earlier. “We just continue to monitor it to make sure that it doesn’t continue to get worse over time, just being more careful than anything.”
Isaac previously missed more than two seasons after tearing his left ACL in 2020.
This season, he has appeared in 51 games, averaging 2.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per contest.
