Magic expected to bring back Jonathan Isaac

The Magic are expected to re-sign veteran forward Jonathan Isaac after he cleared waivers and became an unrestricted free agent.

Orlando recently waived Isaac, absorbing the $8 million guaranteed portion of his contract.

Because the team chose not to use the waive-and-stretch provision, it remains eligible to immediately negotiate a new deal with him.

One factor behind a possible reunion is the expectation that center Moe Wagner could leave in free agency.

Wagner is projected to receive offers beyond what the Magic can comfortably match while remaining below the NBA’s tax aprons, making Isaac a potential replacement in Orlando’s frontcourt plans.
