Thomas Haugh was among the notable prospects who chose to withdraw from the 2026 NBA Draft and return to college, opting to spend another season at Florida.

While NIL opportunities played a role in his decision, Haugh said he also values the chance to remain in a familiar environment before making the transition to professional basketball.

“The NBA life is no joke,” the player said. “I think my mom didn’t really realize that until she talked to [Grizzlies guard Walter Clayton Jr.’s] mom a little bit.

“Like, you can get traded any day of the week. You’re not out there getting dinners with your guys every night or going on fun trips and stuff like that. It’s a job.”

Haugh explained that another year in college offers both stability and an opportunity to continue developing before entering the NBA.

He also hopes to help Florida compete for another national championship next season.
