The Toronto Raptors were reportedly open to dealing RJ Barrett at the trade deadline, while Brandon Ingram earned an All-Star selection and finished as the team’s leading scorer.

However, according to Michael Grange, Barrett ended up having the greater impact during the postseason, raising questions about whether Toronto could consider moving Ingram this offseason.

Barrett is set to enter the final year of his contract and is eligible for an extension, but the organization may be cautious about committing long-term.

As noted by Grange and Eric Koreen of The Athletic, his expiring deal could make him one of the team’s most attractive trade assets.

Despite the uncertainty, Barrett made it clear on Monday that he would prefer to remain with his hometown team.
