In an effort to speed up his recovery, the Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will head to Europe for medical treatment on his hamstring strain, Shams Charania reports for ESPN.

The move follows consultations with both his personal medical team and the Lakers’ staff.

Doncic was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain on Friday and has not been given a clear recovery timeline, though medical experts believe a three-to-six week absence is typical for that type of injury.

The Lakers are still expected to remain at least the fifth seed in the West, but their backcourt depth has taken a hit, with Austin Reaves sidelined for four to six weeks due to an oblique injury heading into the playoffs.
