Beyond his on-court production, big man Jalen Duren has also grown into a leadership role within the Detroit Pistons locker room.

Teammates have taken notice of his development, both as a player and as a voice within the team.

“It’s not even something I thought of or tried to do,” Duren said when asked about his leadership role.

“I think (it happened) naturally, I just fu*k with my guys. I’m cool with my guys. … I like to bring guys together. I like to joke. I like to play around. Serious when I need to be serious, though.”

Duren has played 4 seasons for the Pistons. He has averaged 13.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 271 regular-season games.
